June Quilt Challenge: Improv Curves

Who is up for a challenge? Let’s sew improv curves together! They may look a little intimidating but they are easy and fun to make and with improv piecing there is no need for perfection or matching points. The wonkier the better! So let’s do this together!

Watch this great video tutorial by Beth Shibley and let’s start sewing! We will have one month to make some blocks and put them together in a project. It can be a quilt, it can be a bag, it can be a pillow, the possibilities are endless!

Have questions? Looking for inspiration or encouragement, join our Slack channel #challenges. If you have Instagram and want to post progress pictures for everyone to see, use hashtag #DCMQGchallenge.

At our July meeting everyone that participated in the challenge can show off the finished or unfinished project. A winner will be chosen at random and get a special quilty surprise!

Get a new blade in that rotary cutter, oil the sewing machine and let’s go!

* If you are interested in hosting a monthly challenge, let us know!
