2026 Charity Bee Sign-ups are Happening!
We are happy to announce the enrollment for the 2026 Charity Quilting Bees. In addition to our traditional Bees, we have two new options this year!
(1) There is an all Improv Bee being created. In this Bee, all quilts and blocks, by all participants, will be Improv. In the sign-up form there is an opportunity for you to indicate if you want to participate in this specific Bee.
(2) There is an opportunity to participate in a Bee as a contributor only. This means you would commit to making blocks every month for other quilters, but you would not be required to host and make a quilt yourself. If this is what you prefer, please indicate it in the sign-up form.
There will be a link to Sign Up in theStitch emails. The deadline for enrolling is February 28, 2026 and the launch will be during our DCMQG March 14, 2026 meeting.
Bees are a great way to create with other DCMQG members and to try making a few blocks you might not otherwise try without committing to a full quilt!
If you have any questions, please email dcmqgcharity@gmail.com

February Regional Mtg & Pixel Quilts Lecture
The next DCMQG regional meeting is Saturday, February 14 at the MLK Jr. Library in DC (901 G St NW, Washington, DC 20001). In addition to the meeting, we will also have a lecture by Dee Bushrod from Pixel Quilts about her process for creating pixel quilts from cherished images.
The lecture will start at 12 pm, after the regional meeting and is open to all DCMQG members. If you are not able to attend the meeting in-person, you can still attend the lecture virtually. Please sign up for the lecture - a link is in the 1/17/26 Stitch so we know how many people to expect or provide you with a link in case you can’t make the meeting in person. -

Get Ready for QuiltCon 2026!
Since QuiltCon is nearby in Raleigh we expect quite a few DCMQG members to be there! Is anyone up for organizing a meet-up for guild members while there? Please let your Board members know!

Jenn, from Slightly Biased Quilts, has a new pattern out. More information from blog below:
I’m thrilled to introduce my newest pattern release: Winter Nest — a cheerful flock of winter birds bundled up in tiny scarves, ready to bring a little joy and warmth to your sewing space this season.
This design has been such a delight to create. I wanted something that captured the magic of winter without feeling too tied to a single holiday—something playful, modern, and full of personality. Every little bird feels like a character, and sewing their cozy scarves might just be my favorite part.
