Community Quilt 2024 Raffle
2024 Community Quilt Raffle!
This hand made, one-of-a kind quilt -- designed by our own Megan Haidet! -- was made as part of the 2024 QuiltCon Community Quilt challenge. Each year thenational MQG challenges local chapters to create a “community” quilt together: a quilt inspired by a set theme and color palette, but communally designed and completed by local quilters. DCMQG sent our "Reflections" quilt to the national modern quilt show at QuiltCon Raleigh in February 2024. We are raffling this quilt to raise money for recent hurricane recovery efforts. Please send the link to any interested friends and family! Questions? Reach out to dcmqgtreasurer@gmail.com. -
QuiltCon 2025 Community Quilt
Every year at QuiltCon showcases quilts made by guilds as a team. MQG designates a color palette and we all work together to create an amazing quilt. Diana Owen has volunteered to manage this project (thanks Diana!) and has designed a beautiful quilt. Block kits were distributed at the meeting last week and members are busy sewing.
A huge thank you to Diana Owen and the community quilt committee for their quick work! Block kits were distributed at the September meeting and members are busy sewing. Please return your finished blocks by October 31. Haven't finished them yet? Bring your machine to the October sew-in! -

Charity Quilt Bundles
Charity Quilt Bundles!
Diana, Enid and Bia prepared 40 bundles of coordinating quilt fabrics from a large donation from Dolores Goodson (thank you, Dolores!) These bundles will be available tonight on the DCMQG Instagram account for members to claim and enjoy making charity quilts.
Here’s how it works! Please comment on the post with the bundle number(s) you would like. Fabrics are intended for DCMQG members to use in charity quilts for the DC Diaper Bank or Inova Health. If you use a bundle, feel free to keep leftover scraps and leftovers, add more fabrics from your stash, or omit fabrics that don’t work for you. No limit per person but — like an all-you-can-eat buffet — take what you want but try to use what you take! The bundles will be at Saturday's meeting. Let us know if you can’t make it and we’ll make arrangements for you to pick up.
