DCMQG Spring Retreat
September 19-22, 2024 | Knoxville, MD
Are you ready for a relaxing weekend in the Blue Ridge Mountains to sew, laugh, eat, drink, sleep, commune with nature, fabric shop and get a massage? Great!
DCMQG will host an in-person retreat September 19-22 at the Blue Mountain Retreat Center, which offers 47 acres of forested land, just across the river from Harper’s Ferry.
Amenities
The rustic retreat center has a large open great room with comfortable couches and chairs, a fireplace, and lots of sunshine. The sewing studio, located in a separate building from the main house, is open 24 hours. You can sew as early and/or as late as you want. It is filled with sunshine and is well lit when the sun does not cooperate.
If her schedule allows, Beth, a Certified Massage Therapist, offers massages for a reasonable price on-site. ($85 in Fall 2024)
Meals (Included!)
If you ask past participants about the food (included in the cost of the retreat), they will rave about the meals. Beth, the owner of the retreat center, cooks organic food from her farm and is able to accommodate many dietary restrictions for lunch and dinner.
She can accommodate gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, vegan and paleo. Breakfast is make-your-own (food provided by Blue Mountain)–cereal, bread, GF bread, eggs, coffee, dairy and non-dairy milks are provided. There is a fridge, microwave and stove top available for use at breakfast. You may also bring snacks and use the fridge.

To allow for comfortable sewing space with machines and gear, we will cap participation at 13 attendees. This year, we will offer day passes for hand sewing only, with 5 spots available on Saturday.
