Strawberry Shortcake Forever

Growing up in the midwest, I loved the parades, fireworks, and sparklers of 4th of July celebrations, but what I especially remember loving was the wonderful strawberry shortcakes. I continued the tradition with my kids by making strawberry shortcake and flag cakes to celebrate the 4th. We would go to the local farms to pick berries through the summer and apples in the fall, and make wonderful food together. My love of strawberry shortcake (which was my wedding cake) and the similarly delicious July 4th flag cake inspired my creation of this original quilt which I call ‘Strawberry Shortcake Forever’. I fused commercial fabrics and machine quilted the 20” x 20” wall quilt.
