This quilt came together with inspiration from several sources: 1) Latifah Saafir’s QuiltCon 2021 class, “Bias Tape Applique Mastery;” 2) a commitment to use what I have in my stash, including bias tape from several inherited sewing boxes; 3) a collection of ric rac I picked up at a DCMQG destash; and 4) a new pair of red and white striped Adidas joggers I bought during COVID. It reminds me of the 1970s, Beastie Boys, and a deconstructed American flag. That’s patriotic, right? I started by sewing the bias tape and ric rac on one large piece of fabric, but it just didn't look right. I cut it up and sewed the pieces back together. I decided to tie the quilt because I felt quilting lines would make it look even busier (if that is even possible)!
