Composed of a background of Liberty of London florals, this quilt was visioned as a fun nod to the Declaration of Independence. After the chaos that was 2020, I made this in early 2021 to let out some frustrations — it’s kind of like an awkward laugh. We still have a long way to go.
Megan is a quilt maker inspired by the traditional Amish designs she grew up around in Ohio. Improvisational piecing and design are her most creative forms of expression and meditative practice. Megan is a private studio artist at Pyramid Atlantic Arts Center and teaches quilting classes at Three Little Birds Sewing Co., both in Hyattsville MD where she also resides.
